Recovery Services

theeffect began its community deeply committed to recovery issues, working with people suffering from alcohol and drug addictions while bringing a spiritually-centered approach to recovery programming. Though we’ve come to understand and firmly believe that everyone is recovering from something, in the case of alcohol and drug addiction, the need for recovery is much more apparent, and the need for a spiritual dimension to that recovery program is essential.

Whether you’re struggling with addiction yourself or you have a loved one who is struggling or you suspect may be struggling, we can help you with assessing your circumstances and getting directed to the people, programs, and facilities you may need, even assess your insurance for addiction coverage.

The RecoveryLine can connect you with:

  • interventionists
  • detox facilities
  • residential or outpatient treatment
  • sober living/transitions homes
  • certified drug and alcohol counselors
  • 12 Step groups and sponsors
  • life skills and job placement services
  • shelters and food banks

Recovery Counseling | Mentoring

At any point during the recovery process, counseling and/or spiritual mentoring can make a big difference in the ability of a person to move from simple abstinence to real recovery. Our counselors are all board certified and/or degreed in their specialty areas and can counsel, mentor, assess, and refer to make sure each person receives the best possible care.

Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment

In an effort to make sure that a solid spiritual base is the core of an alcohol and drug treatment program, several of theeffect’s leaders launched their own state-licensed detox rehab program. Called California Coast Detox and Rehab, the program has a licensed detox facility, three structured residences and a treatment center located in the same campus as theeffect, making it a part and extension of our existing recovery community.

We have specific gatherings and meetings geared for the recovery community offered on a weekly and sessions on an as needed basis through pastors and staff certified in drug and alcohol specialties and pastoral counseling. All our events are built around adding the spiritual dimension and the foundation of Jesus’ message to traditional and clinical recovery programs.

Please see our calendar for month-at-a-glance detail of all our gatherings and events.

Families in Recovery Workshops

theeffect holds weekly Families in Recovery Workshops on Monday nights. Addiction has far reaching effects and hurts everyone near. Families and loved ones of alcoholics and addicts suffer as much as the addicts themselves–sometimes more. Led by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and addiction specialist and an Al-Anon veteran, we bring the clinical and practical experience into each workshop to give families the tools and knowledge they need to move to healthy recovery.

Monday evenings @ 6:30PM: Group Room, Suite 801

Recovery Gatherings

theeffect holds weekly Recovery Gatherings on Tuesday nights. These Gatherings combine musical worship with theeffect band, healing prayer, engaging speakers, and a 12-Step meeting in a warm, safe environment to give people of all ages and addictions a place to come where they can bring their faith and their recovery together in a group setting.

Tuesday evenings @ 7PM: Main Room, Suite 904

More information: 949-218-2228, Option 3

12 Step Meetings

theeffect hosts over twenty traditional, non-religious AA, NA, Al-Anon, and Overeaters Anonymous meetings every week at our facility—multiple meetings per day.

These meetings span the spectrum of men’s, women’s, mixed, open/closed, literature, speaker, meditation, and sharing groups in sizes from ten to fifteen to over eighty average attendees. There is a meeting to meet most any need each week.

See our Calendar for all meeting detail.

Everyone is recovering from something… Admitting this is the first step in spiritual life, because any unfinished business in our lives–trauma, unforgiveness, fear-based perceptions–fosters compulsive behavior and keeps us from connecting spiritually and emotionally.

Since we’re all recovering, we accept everyone right as they are—no expiration dates or deadlines. We don’t tell anyone what to believe or do. We present points of view that we hope will engage seekers in their own journey; help them unlearn limiting perceptions, beliefs, and compulsions; give opportunities to get involved in community, building the trust we all need to find real identity, meaning, and purpose. In other words, to engage the transforming Way of living life that Jesus called Kingdom…non-religiously understood from a first century Hebrew point of view.

Embedded in the fun and laughter of each of our gatherings and events is the connection and accountability as well as the structure, discipline, and opportunity for service that authentic community is all about. We help create programs for physical support, emotional recovery, and spiritual formation that can meet any person’s needs. Such programs work at two levels: first to address a person’s physical and emotional stability—clinical, financial, relational, professional—anything that distracts from working on the second level: true spiritual formation centered around the contemplative way of life defined by an original Hebrew understanding of the message of Jesus.

Rather than telling people what to believe or think, we model and encourage engagement in a personal and communal spiritual journey that allows people to experience their own worthiness of connection and acceptance, to find the freedom from underlying fears that brings real meaning and purpose into focus.

Seeing ourselves as a learning and recovery community that worships together, the focus isn’t on Sunday morning alone, but on every day of the week as we gather for worship, healing and support workshops, studies, 12 step meetings, counseling and mentoring sessions, referral services, and social events. We maintain a food pantry for those needing more support, a recovery worship gathering, and child care for those with little ones.

Our Sunday gathering starts at 10AM and our Recovery gathering on Tuesdays at 7PM. Both gatherings include worship with one of the best worship bands in the area. See our monthly calendar and our Facebook page to stay in touch with what is happening each week. You can also sign up on our elist for email enews updates.
